BIG FIRE AT PALMERSTON

CONSIDERABLE LOSS INCURRED. By Telegosph. —Association. Palms.aton N., Last Night. A fire this evening badly gutted some t»o-storeyed premises in the Square, owned by the Childs’ estate and occupied by A. C. Bradfield, florist, F. Grover, pram manufacturer, and Miss Emmett, music teacher. Leary’s pharmacy, on one side, and 'I. W. Holbrook’s grocers’ shop on the other side, were drenched with water.

The losses were heavy, but the exact damage is not known yet. All stocks were covered by insurance.
