NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. Tho executive of the New Plymouth Jersey Cattle Chib met at New Plymouth yesterday. Present: Messrs. H. C. Sampson (chairman), G. H. Bell, H. B. Lepper, A. J. Luxton, F. W. Cornwall, A. R. Gudopp, P. J. Petersen and E. Griffiths.

The secretary of the Stratford Jersey Cattle Club notified the club that a meeting of the provincial council would be held, in Kaponga on Wednesday, March 21. At that meeting the question of a combined auction sale under joint auctioneers would be considered. In thia connection, the Stratford Club recommended that entrance fees be divided into two sections, one to be paid on nomination, and the other after animals have been approved by the inspection committee. It wag further recommended that any surplus money derived from

the nomination and acceptance fees be divided pro rata between owners of animals having to pay freight to the venue of the iale, and that the sale be held in May if possible.—The club decided to instruct its delegates not to support the provincial sale, on tho grounds that it would probably interfere with the local sales. The president and Mr. G. H. Bell (failing his being able to go Mr. Petersen to go in his place) were appointed the club’s delegates to a meeting at Palmerston North on Thursday, April 19, when the question of "Adding Type to Pedigree” will be gone into. The scheme provides for the classification of Jersey cattle as to type. The object, of the meeting of delegates is to go fully into the subject, with a view to formulating a definite scheme to put before the next annual meeting of the parent association. Messrs.
