Share market sales reported.—National Bank of New Zealand (three parcels), £6 18s 6d; Bank of New Zealand, £2 19s and £’2 19s Id; New Zealand Breweries Bonds, £1 3s 3d; Wellington Gas (ordinary), £1 7s 9d; New Zealand Refrigerating (10s), an odd lot at 7s 4d; Wellington Woollen' (preference), £(J ss; Waihi Gold Mining, 9s lOd. BURNSIDE SALE. Dunedin, March 14. Prices for sheep at Burnside to-day were easier by about Is per head, while fat cattle sold at advanced rates. Fat Cattle.—A yarding of 203. The entry was mixed, the proportion of cows being fairly large. There were also some nice yardings of average weight bullocks and heifers. Extra prime bullocks sold at up to £l4 2s 6d; prime heifers, £8 15s to £9 10s; best cows, £9 15s to £ll. Extra prime ox beef sold on a basis of 27s 6d per 1001 b., light 32s Gd, prime heifer 27s Gd, cows and light heifer 20s to 22s Gd. Fat Sheep.— was a fairly large yarding, comprised of a number of medium ewes and light, fine wool wethers, and some extra pens of prime wethers and ewes. The opening demand was fair, being much the same as last week for wethers, while ewes were about Is cheaper. Prices eased about midway through the sale. Extra heavy wethers made 42s to 445, prime 35s to 38s 3d, medium 26s 9d to 295; extra heavy wes 32s to 345, prime 22s 6d to 265, medium 12s to 16s. Extra heavy wethers sold on a basis of s}d per lb., prime light Gd, ewes from 3d to 4d. Lambs.—The entry showed fair to prime quality, with a number of pens of plain and medium lambs. There was a good demand for finished lots, and the advance was about Is 6d per head. Prime heavy lambs mado 31s to 335, prime 27s to 28s 9d, medium 21s to 245. Prime lamb sold on a basis of 9d and 9fd per lb. Store Cattle.—The yarding of 250 was made up for the most part of eows and young sorts, together with some 50 steers. The quality was from fair to good. Best grown bullocks realised £ll IQs, medium three-year-olds £9, fair IJ-year-old steers £5. The demand generally was good for all classes. Pigs.—One hundred and forty-one fats and 138 stores were penned. There was good quality in the yarding, but there was no demand. Prime baconers sold on a basis of sjd, and prime porkers 7d per lb. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house:—“There was a full attendance at the opening of the sales to-day, competition by Home and Continental buyers being active, and prices, as compared with the close of preceding series, ruled par to 5 per cent, higher for Merino, 5 per cent, to 10 per cent, higher for greasy crossbred, and 7J per cent, to 10 per cent, higher for crossbred slipe. The opening catalogues were fairly representative. America is buying suitable lots of crossbred.” ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. LARGE YARDING OF SHEEP. Christchurch, March 14. The largest entry • of the season in breeding ewes was forward to-day at the Addington sale, the yarding comprising ewes from Nelsorf, the North Island and other outside parts. Fat .lambs, fat sheep and fat eattle were all 'in light supply. Store Sheep.—Over 30,000 were foiiward in this section. Lambs were fewer than usual, and as a result of the increase in the price of export lamb and the excellent feed prospects owing to the recent rains, there was a sharp advance in values ranging from 2s to 2s 6d a head. The ewe market also showed an advance. Sheep bought at last week’s North Canterbury sales were turned over at 4s to 5s profit. The best ewes were bought very freely, and other sorts at fully last week’s values. Wethers advanced from Is to 2s a head. Extra good two-tooth half-bred ewes made up’ to 425, ordinary two-toothed half-bred ewes 34s 6d to 375; good twotoothed crossbred ewes 35s to 395, ordinary two-toothed crossbred ewca 30s to 34s 6d, cull and inferior two-toothed Romney ewes '2ss to 28s, four, six and eight-toothed Romney ewes 25s 6d to 28s 9d, inferior four, six and. eighttoothed crossbred ewes 20s to 24s Gd, good fqur-tootbed crossbred ewes 10s, inferior four and six'-toothed Romney ewes 22s to 2Gs, good four-year half-bred ewes 28s to 29s 6d, ordinary four-year half-bred ewes. 24s Gd to 265, sound and failing-mouthed half-bred ewes 20s to 25s Gd, failing-mouthed halfbred ewes IBs to 19s Gd, sound and fail-ing-mouthed crossbred ewes 18s Gd to 225, failing-mouthed crossbred ewes 16s to 21s, aged ewes 5s 6d to 15s 9d, good two and four-toothed wethers 23s Gd to 25s 7d, two-toothed half-bred wethers 19s Gd to 235, four and six-toothed halfbred wethers 21s to 23s 6d, four and six-toothed crossbred wethers 21s to 235, forward lambs 22s to 25s 6d, medium wether lambs 17s 9d to 21s, small and inferior lambs 13s 9d to IGs, cull lambs Ils Gd to 13s.
