FALL OF A CONSTABLE
WAR DISABILITY SUFFERED. By Telegraph.—-I‘ress Association. Auckland, Oct. 18. Selwyn Lawrence Hargreaves, aged 31, formerly district constable at Mangawai, was fined £lO on a charge of leaving his post and admitted to two years’ probation on charges of theft and false pretences. Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., w*s satisfied with the accused’s story of war disability and insomnia caused by the terrible sight of a man who had blown his head off at Kaiwaka.
