Durlnal), an engineer, claims to have invented a steam turbine for aeroplanes, which is more. economical and more powerful than existing motors. He says it is lighter, eliminates risk of fire and noise, steam heats the cabin and provides heat for aerial cooking. A steam plane could could fly thrice the distance of present planes without’descending to take in fuel. The tHirbine could generate five hundred horsepower, and would attain a height of 30,000 to 50,000 feet. The exhaust steam could be used again and again without condensing. The engine requires only ten gallons of watet per 1090 horsepower.
