MUSICIANS BOYCOTTED
AUSTRALIAN BAND’S PROTEST. By Totogwh— Press Assu.—Cupyriglit. Melbourne, Oct. 18. Recently tiro Australian band returned from a visit to Canada and the United States of America. After fulfilling engagements in Canada, other engagements had been arranged in the United States, but were prevented, from being carried out owing to the intervention of the Musicyins’ Federation of America. This boycott is deeply resented, aud a movement is on foot to enact retaliatory measures.
The Musicians’ Union in Australia has started, a movement with the object of securing Federal legislative action to prevent tho entry of musicians from tha United States into Australia. It is stated that during the past two years American bands aggregating over 50 players have been imported into Australia.
