OMATA FANCY DRESS BALL
AN ENJOYABLE FUNCTION. Favoured by splendid weather, the plain and fancy dress ball organised by the hall committee at Omata last night was a great success. The hall was well decorated and with tho many gay costumes looked very gay. Th® dresses were cleverly thought out, and very effective, and few envied the position of the judge (Mrs. Blackley). Th® following were awarded the prizes:—• Beet Ladies’ Fancy.—Miss R. Luxton (Newton King, Ltd.). Best Men’s Fancy.—Mr. H. Bayly (Uncle Sam). Most Original Ladies.— Miss Cleave? (It Ani't Gonna Rain No Mere). Most Original Men’s.—Mr. Gcor. Beck (Omata). Mrs. Blackley generously donated four sjrecial prizes which were awarded as follow: Miss M. Luxton (Old Lavender), Mies Knight (Good Luck), Mr., B. Bayley (Chinaman), Mr. E. Luxford (A Turk). A sit down cupper was provided by the ladies. Dancing proceeded well into the early hours of the morning t® the strains of McNeill’s orchestra.
