FIGHT WITH FERNHOOKS
ITALIAN FOUND NOT GUILTY. By Telegraph—Frees Assn.—Copyright. Melbourne, Oct. 18. Cried, an Italian fern-cutter, charged with tho murder of his countryman Polistina in the Gippsland district, was found not guilty.
On October 6, an Italian fern-cutter, Antonio Exerecti, was found in a lonely gully at Abshott, Gippsland, shockingly mutilated, with two blood-stained fernhooks beside him. Ho died before he could be removed to the hospital. A ganger in charge of a number of Italians who were euttin; fern stated that he missed Exerecti and another Italian. He searched for them and came upon deceased. It was surmised the two men entered the gully and after a dispute a desperate fight with the fern-hooks occurred.
