MEMORIAL TO MR. MASSEY
ERECTION ON POINT HALS-WELL. USE OF TAKAKA WHITE MARBLE.. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. At. a meeting of the Massey Memorial Board held yesterday afternoon, the Prime Minister announced that the design for the memorial at Point Halswell had. been finally approved and that the report of Mr. Hurst Seager, the consulting architect, with illustrations .and a detailed description of the memorial would be published for general information on Wednesday. The mode] of Die memorial at present in Parliament House will be exhibited in Wellington in the course of a few days.
The Prime Minister further intimated that the board had approved the use of white marble from a part of the Takaka quarries that had not previously been opened up and which has beer, most favourably reported upon by the Depart* ment of Scientific and Industrial Research.
