COLONIAL OFFICE INQUIRY. (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, Oct. 14. Tho Colonial Secretary has appointed a committee to inquire into the. organisation of the colonial veterinary services and make suggestions for their efficiency. The questions to be considered will embrace the recruitment and training of veterinary officers, their conditions of service, organisation of research and intelligence, and the setting up and support of any institutions required. In framing their recommendations, the committee have to bear in mind that the principle of Hie ultimate creation of the colonial scientific and research service has been approved by the Colonial Office Conference, and that specific proposals for the formation of an agricultural scientific and research service for Hie non-self-governing dependencies, with which the veterinary service must necessarily maintain a close liaison are now being framed. The committee includes Tail'd Lovat, chairman, the Hon. W. G. A. OrmsbyGore, Under-Secretary for the Colonies, Sir Arnold Tlieiler, Professor Buxton. Professor Leijier and other experts.
