GAVE MAN BLANK CHEQUES
CONFIDING NATURE OF SHOPMEN. 3/ Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Oct. 17. In the Police Court, Thomas Livingstone was charged with false pretences by means of valueless cheques, ami sentenced to 18 months’ reformative detention. The magistrate expressed surprise that business people should hand over blank cheques to irresponsible persons, and commented on the confiding nature of some shopkeepers in cashing the cheques.
