TARANAKI OIL FIELDS
REPORT OF OPERATIONS. The report for the week ended August 27 is as follows: Waiapu No. 2 well.—Depth 2150 feet in grey shale. Good showing of gas; SJin. diameter casing to 2140 feet. Water increasing. Gisborne No. 1 well. —No progress lias been made owing to difficulty underreaming; 12Jin. diameter casing now run to bottom. Drilling resumed to-day.
