SUCCESSFUL CLEARING SALE
Messrs. Newton King, Ltd. report having conducted the first of the season’s clearing sales on behalf of Mr. A. O’Connor, Normanby Road, Manaia, on Tuesday. Best dairy cows sold from £lO 10s to £l3 10s; medium sorts, £6 10s to £9; backward sorts, £4 to £4 15s; th. whole herd making the grand average of £8 15s. A spring cart horse brought £3l 10s, bulls sold from £4 15s to £9 10s, and implements in fair order of repair brought good prices. There were some <5O buyers present from all parts of the Plains and this sale indicates that there will be a good demand for good dairy cows for the coming season.
