BIG SCORE AGAINST SUSSEX TOURISTS COMPILE 466 RUNS. LOWRY SECURES A CENTURY. By 'Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, May 30. The match New Zealand v. Sussex was continued to-day. Blunt, who is batting most consistently, and Dempster made an excellent first wicket stand, putting on 125 in 100 minutes. The former hit eight fours in his 67. Another fine partnership followed when the captain joined Page. The latter, whose batting has been in and out, found his form again and assisted Lowry to add 163 in 100 minutes. The latter drove powerfully and had reached 106 before he was dismissed by W'ensley, who brought off a fine catch in the deep field. There were eleven boundary strokes in his century. James and Daere took the total to 340 and at the tea adjournment, when McGirr and Oliver were at the wickets, the score had reached six for 363. James and Oliver were very unlucky, both being run out- through a misunderstanding with their partners. McGirr left at 402, and then Merritt and Bernau gave the bowlers a lot of trouble, not being parted till they had added 53 in 45 minutes. The whole innings lasted just on six hours, and the bowling came in for some severe treatment, but A. E. Gilligan did not bowl. The scores were as follow;—
