INGLEWOOD NEWS.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) May 31. The annual meeting of the Inglewood Golf Club was held in Mr. 11. Thomson's office last night, when there was a fair attendance. Mr. R. Darlow presided. In reporting on the year’s work the chairman stated that the balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £29, and this was very creditable seeing the expenses the club had been put to. The old links had been abandoned, but a new course had been made on Mr. A. Marshall’s property at Durham Road, and was now ready to play on. The winners of last year’s championships were: Senior, Mr. S. Lovell; junior, Mr. W. Smith; ladies. Miss D. Brown. The election of officers resulted as follow:—President, Mr. R. Darlow; club captain, Mr. J. Sutherland; secretary, Mr. G. Pullen; committee, Messrs. Winter and Maetzig, with the other officers: auditor, Mr. E. Olson. It was decided to open the new course with a mixed foursome on June 3. At the Druids’ Hall on Friday evening the cribbage clubs played the finals of the second round of their tournament. The position of the different clubs is now as follows: Bowlers, 9 points; Egmont Village, 6 points; Fire Brigade, 6 points; Druids, 3 points. For the Inglewood-Star match last Saturday the gate was a very good one, amounting to £35. The following will represent Inglewood in the Dewar seven-a-side tournament on Friday: Coutts, Ross (2), Gudgeon, Atkinson (2), Fletcher, and Fussell.
