STAFF DOWN WITH POISON
AUSTRALIAN APPLES SUSPECTED. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Received April 7, 5.5 p.m. London, April 6. Sir Joseph Cook (High Commissioner for Australfa) referring to a suggestion that eight members of the House of Lords staff were poisoned by arsenic from apples, declares that apparently there was no evidence that such was the case, but the suggestion’ was particularly unfortunate in view of the Ferndale’s arrival. He added that the Commonwealth had arranged for-special-ly stringent supervision and inspection to prevent arsenic on apples.
