RESIGNATION OF THE PRESIDENT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, April 7. Mr. James Carlaw tendered his resignation as president of the New Zealand Rugby League at tho annual meeting. Speaking of the New Zealand team’s tour, he said: “I am so disheartened I do not like to touch on the matter at all. I would like, however, to thank the players who remained loyal.” The League, he added, would decide on Thursday night on a fitting mark of appreciation of the players in the team that were loyal to the game and to the country that sent them.
