Mr. A. E. Sykes is to sail for Sydney by the Marama on Friday. Mr. Zane Grey has arrived at Wellington states a Press Association message. Lady Beauchamp and Mrs. L. Ashcroft Edwards, of Wellington, arrived in New Plymouth on Friday evening and are staying. for a Jew days. The Mayor (Mr. F. E. Wilson) will represent tho New Plymouth Borough Council at ths forthcoming municipal conference at Palmerston North. He will also watch the interests of the Inglewood borough. Messrs. M. Mahaffy, of Melbourne, and H. S. T. Weston, of Christchurch, were among the visitors at the weekly luncheon of the New Plymouth Rotary Club yesterday. Mr. Mahaffy is over on a short visit and returns by the Marama on Friday. Ha has been greatly impressed by the scenery in Taranaki. Monsignor P. J. Power and Fathers Minogue, Breen J. Power (New Plymouth), Forrester (Inglewood), Cahill Dillon (Stratford), Moore (Eltham), Kennedy (Opunake), and O’Dwyer (Manaia) were passengers by the mail train to Wellington yesterday morning, where they will attend a church congress. Father Phelan joined the train at Patea. The party will return on Friday.
