THE FLAX INDUSTRY
BIG CONFERENCE TO BE HELD. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston N., Last Night. A big conference is on foot to place the fiax industry in New Zealand on a better footing. Some time prior to the holidays a proposal w3s made for reforming the grading system. The draft proposal 'was tent to all interested persons throughout the Dominion. As a result of the replies received it has been decided to cajl a conference to go thoroughly into all questions connected with the industry. This will be held in Wellington on January 21, and will be attended by flaxinillers, merchants, manufacturers and the Department of Agriculture. This will probably make the largest gathering of those interested in the industry that has been seen for many’years.
