CONCERT BY DEVON CADETS

BRIGHT AND VARIED PROGRAMME. Once again the steamer Devon is visiting New Plymouth, and with her she has brought another batch of cadets, who gave a bright concert before a packed house at the Workers’ Social Hall last night, as was done on the vessel’s last trip.’ For its variety and freshness the concert was outstanding and, combined with the fine talent of the performers, went to make a very entertaining evening. The programme was as follows: — Opening chorus (the company); “Captain Mac” (G. W. F. Sang win; “Mary Lou” (J. R. Whiteman, W. E. Coates, L. V. Horn and chorus); “Barcelona” (T. Marchington and T. S. Farrar); “The Massacre of Macpherson” (D. MacFarlane); “Horses” (W. E. Coates, C. H. Willis and chorus); “Hullo! Tutu” (J. R, Whiteman and T. Marchington) ; "In My Museum” (G. W. F. Sangwin); “So Can We” (P. Gowland and Company); “Sing a Little Song” (company); "Three Priceless Old Things” (W. E. Coates, J. R. Whiteman, G. W. Sangwin); “Quack, Quack” ,(C. H. Willis); “Sammy, the Dashing Dragoon” (D. MacFarlane and chorus); “Hallo, Aloha!” (W. E. Coates, C. H. Willis and L. V. Horn); “What a Funny Lil’ Tune” (G. W. Sangwin); “The Seaside” (J. R. Whiteman, C. H. Willis and C. Roberts); “Pirates” (W. E. Coates, D. MacFarlane, T. Marchington and G. W. Sangwin); “Poor Papa” (C. H. Willis and T. S. Farrar); “The Company Ser-geant-Major” (G. W. Sangwin); finale (company).

After the concert the hall was cleared and dancing continued until a late hour.
