POLAR EXPEDITION
CAPTAIN WILKINS’ PLANS. By Telegraph— Press Assn. —Copyright, Received Jan. 0, 10.30 p.m, New York, Jan. •> The plans for the second Polar expedition under Captain Wilkins were, announced by Mr. Hugh Grant, former British naval officer, who is co-operating in tho reorganised Detroit Arctie expedition. Captain Wilkins and party will leave Seattle on February 12 for Fairbanks, in Alaska. Three aeroplanes will be used to search for land in the Arctic ice pack. A base will bo established at Point Barow and meteorological record* will bo kept. Captain Wilkins believe* that the Arctic weather has a direct bearing on , unsolved meteoroligical problems of the temperate and tropical zones;
