Mr. J. N. Bullard, who has been spending the holidays at “Bushlea,” Inglewood, returns to Gisborne this morning.

Advice was received in Wanganui of the death at Wairoa last night of Mr. J. T, Ward, who was in business in Wanganui for very many years as ft bookseller, retiring a few mbnths ago. The death of Mr. 8. E. White, only son of Mr. and Mrs. G. H. White, of New Plymouth, which'-took place at an early hour yesterday morning at the hospital. Mr. White had been in poor health for some time, but hopes of hfo recovery were confidently entertained up till about a week ago, when his condition caused grave anxiety. My. White was a clerk in the Lands and Purvey Office at New Plymouth. He had been prominent in the young men’s work connected with Whiteley Church, having been secretary of the Bible Class, and also for some years secretary of the Sunday School.
