ALLEGED ESPIONAGE
EXAMINATION OI.J STRANDERS. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Paris, Jan. 2. Stranders, who was arrested in Paris on a charge of espionage, examined by the magistrate, admitted sending Weber information about French aeroplanes, engines and caterpillar wheeled motors, but it-was merely of a commercial character. The director of a Parisian aviation company gave evidence that Stranders never asked details of the military machines.
ARREST OF A GERMAN.
EMPLOYEE OF KRUPPS. London. Jan. 2. Herr Von Luar, for many years a trusted employee of Krupps locomotive department, was arrested on a charge of espionage on behalf of France. It. is alleged that he attempted suicide while awaiting examination. Berlin, Dec. 31,. The newspaper refuse credence of French allegations of a vast network of German espionage. They regard it as highly improbable that Stranders was engaged therein, and state that after his association with the interAllied Aeronautical Control Board h> settled in Berlin and acted as agent fovarious foreign aeroplane firms. The Lokal Anzieger insinuates that tiie whole affair was vamped up by the French.
