Commenting on the Italo-German Treaty, the Pravda newspaper says:— “Signor Mussolini’s original proposals to Germany were much more far-reaching than the simple arbitration agreement, and England’s pressure on Germany not to act too openly against France was the reason why Mussolini's plans proved unsuccessful.
