TWO DETECTIVES SHOT.
WOUNDED IN CHASING GANG. Following the wounding of two Glasgow detectives in the early hours of a recent morning 13 men, all of the working class and hailing from various parts of the city, were arrested and charged at the local court in connection with the affair. They were remanded to enabb th? police to make further inquiries. While the detectives George Robertson and John Anderson were on duty in a laundry in Granville Street they heard sounds coming from the roof. The persons on the roof • apparently became suspicious. that the premises were occupied, and they made off. The officers pursued them, and four shots rang out. Robertson was hit in the leg and Anderson in the hand. The men escaped. Detective Robertson was detained in the Royal Infirmary, but Detective Anderson was allowed to go home afler treatment.
