AUTOMOBILE ASSN.
THE MONTHLY MEETING. The executive of the Taranaki Automobile Association met last night. Present: Mr. F. H. Blundell (president), Dr. Adamson, Messrs. A. E. Surrey, J. R. Penn, R. Day, R. Aroa, W. Ogle, E. T. Petty, F. Amoore, G. Farquhar, T. W. Mprris, Mr. E. J. Judd (organiser) and V. Duff (treasurer). The dangerous nature of the railway crossing at. Smart Road had been referred to the District Traffic Manager of Railways by the New Plymouth stationmaster (Mr. H. F. Mirams) it was reported. The Main Highways Board wrote stating that a subsidy would be given by the board for all signs erected on the main highways. The chairman said that the association would be able to push on with the scheme for erecting signboards straight away. It was decided to write to the Clifton County Council asking them to attend to the bad slip near the Okoke Road. It was decided to postpone the motor outing until the New Year. The position with regard to levies was made clear. No levies could be made except on the decision of a general meeting.
