LEAGUE CLUB RESULTS. The New Plymouth League Cycle Club's races at Western Park last night resulted as follows: Half-mile open (Weston series): —Des George (40yds) 1, J. Peel (50yds) 2, C. Aroa (lamin) 3. There were eight starters. George Won easily by about ten yards, but there was a great finish between second, third and fourth, Peel getting second by a wheel from Aroa. who beat Claffey by inches. Time. Imin 6 4-ssec. Points now stand: Aroa 9, George 6, Brewster and Peel 2, Yardley 1. Junior Series (half-mile).—C. Lehrke (45yds) 1, F. Bell (30yds) 2, D. Robinsou (scr) 3. There were 11 starters. Lehrke won by five yards from Bell, who beat Robinson by three-quarters of a length. The rest of the field were close together. Robinson must have been closer up at the finish, but for being carried very wide just after the bell. Time, Imin 10 4-ssec. Points: Lehrke 4, Bell 4, Lister 4, Rutherford 4, Robinson 3, Gable 2. Races next Tuesday are:—Juniors, three-quarter mile handicap; seniors, two miles handicap. After the races were run three attempts were made to lower C. Parker’s unpaced one mile elub record of 2min 20 2-ssec, but all failed to reduce the time. S. McCann did 2min 22jsec, C. Aroa imin 26Jsec, W. Brewster 2min 28 I-ssec.
