CLOSE OF YEAR GATHERING. FINDING THE CHAMPIONS. The school year at Fitzroy was closed yesterday with a sports gathering that lasted all the morning and afternoon. Most of the school grounds seemed to be occupied by children, their parents and friends, and it was therefore no light task to keep the organisation moving along without a hitch. Yet it was accomplished by members of the staff and the committee. Mr. R. Gilbert acted as starter, and Messrs. G. A. Lyall (headmaster) and F. Bruce as judges. Some events have yet to be run off to-day, but the only championships likely to be affected are the girls’ senior, for third place only, and the boys’ intermediate.
