The watereiders’ “'no overtime'’ strike las been settled, the men agreeing to accept Judge Beeby’s proposals. It is expected that normal working T.ili be resumed on Friday next. Sydney, Dec. 14. A conference of representatives of the ■Federal committee of management of the Water eiders’ Federation and the inter State and Overseas Shipowners’ Association, convened by Mr. Justice Beeby, held a ehort discussion, after which a statement was issued to the effect that Mr. Justice Beeby proposed that the hearing, of the wharf labourers’ ease, now pending before the eourt should commence on January 10, the item relating to overtime and preference to be dealt with first and an Interim award given during these proceedings. The offer to take the ease out of turn Was en the express condition that normal work should be resumed on the vrharvee en or before Friday of this week. The conference adjourned to enable the watereiders to consider the proposal.
