THE ART OF WRITING

OBJECTION TO PRINT SCRIPT. Ey Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Dee. 9. The Primary Schools Committees’ Association last night decided to aek the Director of Education to take steps to have cursive wiling taught in all schools from standard one upwards. The chairman said that no reference on the subject appeared in the regulations, which Was a glaring weakness, and it was left to the teacher to give instruction or omit it altogether. Business men, especially banking firms, are not agreed that- the print script style of handwriting should be . encouraged, as inquiries by. the Education Department go to show that some institutions object so strongly that they will not engage a .boy who writes print script.
