NEW AUDITION ROOMS.

PROVISION IN HAWERA. To cope with the increased business Mr. E. Dixon has just completed the provision of two up-to-date audition rooms in his premises and this improvement will no doubt be the means of offering a more speedy and efficient service to customers. The two audition rooms are handsomely finished and furnished appropriately and are so constructed that they are sound-proof. Each room is 6ft by 9ft and is provided with two large plate-glass windows, 9ft by 4ft, and 6ft by 4ft respectively. The roofing is of a new class of artificial board and the floor is covered with rubber matting. The rooms are fitted with electric light and provision is also made for electric heating. In the first place it was thought that the building of the audition rooms would spoil the appearance of the shop, but the contrary has been the case and the effect is very pleasing. Between the audition rooms a large record cabinet, capable of holding a large number of gramophone records, has been provided, and the whole has been designed with a view of giving speedy and efficient service. The reason of Mr. Dixon’s decision to build the audition rooms was to ensure that patrons should not be kept waiting and the recent alterations allow of at least three customers receiving attention at once and demonstrations can be given on the gramophones without interfering with other patrons. The audition rooms may also be used for demonstrating player piano rolls. Altogether the improvements carried out should be welcomed by patrons. PERSONAL ITEMS. Mr. M. C.
