INGLEWOOD NEWS.

PRESBYTERIAN BAZAAR. A SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION. The Inglewood Town Hall presented a gay scene yesterday, the occasion being the annual bazaar in connection with St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church and the function this year promisee to be even more successful than any of its predecessors. The annual bazaars ha,ve been the means adopted by the ladies in raising funds for the erection of a new church at Inglewood, and in. this way a substantial sum has been realised so that the ladies are now within measurable reach of seeing the result for which they have been working achieved, as the foundation stone of the new edifice is to be laid shortly. A contract for its erection has just been let to Messrs Aitken and Adinall. This apparently, has given added zest to their enthusiasm this°year with' the result that the Town Hall has been transformed into a market place abounding in stalls lavishly laden with the product of the farm, the garden and the larder, as well as other stalls laden with plain and fancy work, the handiwork of the ladies. Judging from the busy time the stallholders had during the afternoon and evening the funds should be considerably augmented as the result of the effort. In the unavoidable absence of the Mayor (Mr. R. B. Darlow), the Rev. J. H. Boyd officially opened the bazaar. He apologised for the absence of the Mayor and then extended a hearty welcome to all the visitors, expressing the hope that the bazaar would prove a financial success, as the proceeds were to be devoted towards the new church building fund.
