THE WENDY HUT.

FROM WENDY’S ARMCHAIR.

(All Rights Reserved.) Children dear, the Wendy Hut has been besieged! Really and truly besieged by a terrible army of enemies! Round and round the Hut our enemies wandered. They entered the rooms and turned everything topsyturvy; they threatened us and told us to get out; they seized the Villakins, and poor Billikins had to come to us for shelter! Oh! we had a terrible time of it—for one whole day. Tink and Billikins and I really thought we would have to leave our dear little Hut, and find another home. We were very, very sad as we sat in the little sitting-room, looking tearfully through the window at the dear wee garden we all love so mucli, ‘ Well!” Tink sighed. “I suppose we will have to go!” “Yes,” replied Billikins. “Dreadful, isn't it. Come along, let’s get. My Goodness, what’s that!” “That,” children, was the Relief Party!. Oh! a most ’nonnously wonderful Relief Party, composed of Wendy Ladies and Billy Boys and Tiny Tinkites, marching along with banners floating, singing as hard as they eould. Round the bend of the path that leads from the Wendy Woods they came, and as they drew nearer we could hear what they were singing. What d’you think it was? Why—our very- own “Tinker Bell Marching Song.” You remember it? In case you don’t; I’ll just repeat it for you. Tinker Bell! Tinker Bell, pass the word along; Wendy Girls and Billy Boys, sing the marching song! . Tinker Bell, Tinker Bell, music in the air; Tinker Bell; Tinker Bell! chiming everywhere. Tinker Bell, Tinker Bell! Sing it heart and soul. Wendy Girls and Billy Boys striving toward the goal! New recruits are marching with the colours of the clan, Tinker Bell! Tinker Bell! Louder if you can! Tinker Bell! Tinker Bell! On and on we go. The road of love and laughter is the road we know. Read the roll again, boys—still they want to sign— Still the little soldiers are falling into line. Tinker Bell! Tinker Bell! that’s the way to ring! Pealing out the chorus so we -all may sing. Tinker Bell! Tinker Bell! join our merry throng. Tinker Bell! Tinker Bell! pass the wor 1 along!

Well, the Relief Party completely routed our enemies. Tink looked at Billikins and smiled; Billikins looked at me and smiled. And then we all looked at each other and burst out laughing. . “Doubts, doubts, doubts,” laughed Tink, “Never again will we doubt.” For, you see, the Invading Army was composed of Doubts and Depressions, and little silly “If’s” and “Why’s” and “Wherefore’s.” (Even Fairy Folk get depressed sometimes, you know, and so does your Wendy Lady). But the moment that Relief Party—our wonderful, wonderful children, came striding along singing the “Club Song” and waving their banners, well the Invading Army of Doubts and Depressions simply fled! Thank you, children mine.
