WRIST BONE BROKEN.

PRIME MINISTER’S WIFE. (By Wire—Special to News). Wellington, Last Night. While going out to, fulfil an engagement last evening Mrs. Coates, wife of the Prime Minister, had the misfortune. to slip on a mat on polished- oilcloth, with the result that a bone in her right wrist was broken. Mrs. Coates, however, kept her engagement but suffered a great deal during the night and next morning. After ordinary treatment had failed to reduce the pain or the swelling, her medical adviser was called in and the arm was put in splints. Notwithstanding considerable pain Mrs. Coates this afternoon motored to the Hutt to attend a party that had been arranged in tllr honour. The accident happened at a most inopportune time, as Mrs. Coates is leaving shortly for London with her husband, and the arm will have to remain in%plints for five or six weeks.
