SULTAN MEHMED’S DEATH
DRAMATIC DISCLOSURES. MURDER CHARGE FOLLOWS. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received June 11, 7.50 p.m. San Remo, June 10. It is reported that the departure for Damascus of the body of the late Sultan Mehmed, which was fixed for June 16, has been postponed as the Sultan was in debt to the extent of 200,000 lir& and .seals have been affixed to the house. Colonel Zeky Bey, aide de camp io the late Sultan Mehmed VI, has been arrested on a charge of the premeditated homicide of Reehad Pasha, the Sultan’s physician, who was found dead with a bullet in his brain in March, 1924. It was then decided it was a case of suicide, but since the death of the Sultan revelations have been made by persons in his suite to the Turkish Consul at Genoa, who informed the Italian authorities.
