BREEDING OF MERINOS.

JLOCKS IN VICTORIA A GENEROUS GIFT. A generous and valuable offer, which it is considered will materially improve the breeding of Merino sheep in Victoria, has been made to the Council oi Agricultural Education by Air. Otwav Falkiner, chairman of the directors oi' F. S. Falkiner and Sons, Limited, in regard to the State Agricultural College at Dookie. Mr. Falkiner, whose company has controlled the Bonooke Stud for 30 years, and who is himself recognised as one’ of the most successful Merino breeders in Australia, lias offered to control the Dookie Stud Merino flock and to supply for nothing such ewes and rams as he considers necessary to bring the flock up to his standard. Mr. Falkiner will also give demonstrations and explain everything he does for the benefit of the students. The council has accepted the offer.
