AYRSHIRE BREEDERS.
TARANAKI CLUB MEETS, A meeting of the Taranaki Ayrshire Cattle dub was held at the Winter Show buildings <m Thursday. Mr. V) H. Field presided over a good attendance including Mr. T. Webb, treasurer of the New Zealand Ayrshire Breeders’ Association. Rules were adopted and provision was made for the election of active honorary and life members. The objects of the club are to promote the breeding of Ayrshire cattle; to assist the New Zealand Ayrshire Cattle Breeders’ Association; co-operate and assist institutions holding cattle shows.
Mr. H. 11. Olson was elected vicepresident and the committee was empowered to fill the vacancy thus created on the committee.
Mr. R. W. D. Robertson will represent the club at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Ayrshire Cattle Breeders’ Association. A discussion ensued with reference to tatoo earmarking and it was stated that all breeders in this district had adopted the practice.
There was also a discussion with reference to' semi-final testing, and tne meeting decided to forward a recommendation to the parent body to the effect that it contribute £5 towards the cost of testing first cow rather than grant a subsidy on the butter-fait produced as at present.
