QUESTION OF CONFERENCES. Calcutta, April 11. Serious dissensions in the Islamic world are foreshadowed, following the refusal of Indian Moslems to attend a conference convened to be held in Egypt to decide questions concerning the Caliphate. One section of Moslems favours the holding of annual conferences of the Islamic peoples, with an elected Caliph as president, but Indian Moslems fear that a conference in Egypt would give the Egyptians a decisive voice in the election of the Caliph.
