Sales on 'Change: Commercial Bank Of Australia, 30s sd; Queensland Insurance, 535; New Zealand Refrigerating (con.), 8s Id (two parcels) ; Electro Zinc (pre?.), 34s 7d; Central Dairy (£2 paid), 37s Gd. WESTFIELD STOCK MARKET. Auckland, Last Night. At the Westfield sale there was a considerably smaller yarding, and in consequence the market firmed. Very few bullocks were yarded. Extra choice and prime ox made 31s per 1001 b.; choice and prime, 27s to 30s; ordinary and plain, 19s to 21s. Prime young cow and heifer beef, 275; ordinary, 22s to 235; rough, 14s to 20s. There was a much smaller yarding of sheep, prices being firmer. No heavy wethers were yarded. Prices were: Medium to prime, 29s to 30s 6d; small and unfinished, 25s to 26s fid; best heavy prime ewes, 25s 6d; medium. 22s 6d to 245; light and unfinished, 19s 6d to 21s. There was an average yarding of lambs, prices being unchanged. Heavy primo lamb made 265; medium, 22s 6d to 23s 6d; light, 20s to 21s 6d. There was a heavy yarding of calves, last week's prices being fully maintained. Runners made £3 8s to £4; heavy veal era, £3 to £3 lUs; medium, £2 12s to £2 18s; light, £2, to £2 8s; small, £1 12s to £1 13s; fresh dropped, 4s to 7s. In a good yarding of pigs there was little or no change tn values. Choppers made £8 5s to £3 12s; medium and heavy baconeM, £4 5s to £4 9s; light baconers and heavy porkers. £3 14s to £3 IDs; medium and light porkers, £2 18s to £3 4s. COLONIAL SUGAR COMPANY. The Colonial Sugar Refining Company’s meeting for the half-year ended March showed net profits amounting to £390,104, whereof £195,542 was from earnings in New Zealand and Fiji. A dividend of 12 1 <> per cent absorbed £304,657, and £78,040 was transferred to the replacement .fund. The report showed that Australian sugar crops for the past season exceeded the previous records, while those of Fiji were much above the aver age. Prospects for this year were not so good, the rains having been Insufficient. It was stated that the recent fire in Adelaide had damaged the works to such an extent that work cannot be resumed before October. SYDNEY WOOL SALES. Received May 5, 11.40 p.m. Sydney, May 5. At the wool sales fine sorts maintained a strong demand and a firm position at full rates. Broader types of fleece wools wer* Irregular and eased by to 5 per cent, compared with last week’s rates.
