His Majesty the King is so delighted with Mr. Jack’s picture, that, after another sitting, he announced that he intends to purchase it himself. Mr. Jack will paint a replica of the picture for the municipalicy of Fulham for whom the original was intended. Critics prediet that the picture will be the most outstanding at the Academy. Mr. Jack was commissioned to paint a portrait of the King by the Fulham municipality but His Majesty was unable to give him sittings. Learning ot the arti-st’s -success despite this handicap, His Majesty be'eame interested, signifying his delight with the picture by according Mr. Jaek special sittings and obtaining an extension of time so that the portrait might be hung at the Academy.
