SEARCH FOR OIL.
REPORT ON OPERATIONS. The following report for the week ended April 10, was issued by Taranaki Oil Fields, Ltd., yesterday:— Tarata.—Drilled to 4720 feet in sandy shale. Six and a-quarter inch diameter casing appears to have shut off water at 4595 feet. Moturoa.—Filling well and pulling 12J-inch diameter casing. East Coast No. 1 Well, Waiapu.—Good progress has been made erecting rig. All material and casing delivered except about 30 tons. Weather good.
