HERD-TESTING.

EGMONT GROUP ASSOCIATION. A progressive movement has been started in earnest by the dairyfarmers in the coastal district. The group herd testing has been started in the Pungareliu, Rahotu, Oaonui, Opunake and Piluama districts by Mr. Kidd, late director of the N.Z. Co-op, Herd Testing Association, Hamilton. Already a group of 1100 cows is running to the entire satisfaction, in the above districts, with the chief centre at Oaonui, Below are given some interesting ‘figures of 'the first period ending November 30; —•
