DRAY GOES OVER BANK.
A LABOURER KILLED. ANOTHER SERIOUSLY INJURED. ACCIDENT TN MARLBOROUGH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Blenheim, Last Night. A fatality occurred yesterday on the Upper Awatere Road, whereby Thomas McQueen lost his life and Arthur Coomibs was injured. The men had been at the Jordan accommodation house and were returning in a spring dray to Woodmen’s Bend, where they were employed as labourers by the Public Works Deparment. Later the dray was found overturned down a bank about two miles from Jordan. The dray lay across McQueen’s chest and he was quite dead. Coombs was found in the scrub nearby in a dazed condition. His foot was badly crushed and he was unable to give a" coherent explanation of the accident.
