The radio world will launch the New Year on Friday night with the most elaborate attempt'yet made to bring all the earth within speaking distance. From New York a programme will be sent .to London, and to make it a world-wide event news despatches received by radio telegraph from the Orient, South and Central America will be relayed across the Atlantic from here. London stations will relay the programme to the Continent «n?i the most powerful radio stations of the United States will be linked for the attempt. The chimes of Big Ben. London, will be heard in the United states, e.nd in reply they in turn will be answered by the carillon of New York Church. The consul-generals of the European countries will broadcast messages back home.
