DEADLY DEN RAIDED.

ANARCHISTS AND BOMBS. NINE ARRESTS NEAR CALCUTTA Calcutta, Nov. 14. After a period of quiescense since the famous round-up of revolutionaries a year ago, the police raided a lonely house in a little village, eight mile«» north of Calcutta. A well-equipped anarchists’ den was discovered, and the police found here a bomb and large quantity of bombmanufacturing materials, a loaded revolver, and much ammunition, as well as type-written notes containing the formulae for the manufacture of bombs. Nine young Bengalees were arrested in the house while hurriedly trying to burn a bundle of papers before the search parties forced an entrance. Some of the letters were torn in pieces and thrown outside, but the police recovered the fragments. The men had posed as rice dealers, who, for reasons of health and economy, wished to reside at Calcutta. The incident shows that the revolutionaries have not yet altogether given up hope of effecting a series of assassinations, but the authorities have kept in close touch, and some of the arrested men are believed to have been wanted by them for some time.
