CHILDREN'S BALL.

FRANK LEIGH PARK FUNCTION. There was a large attendance at a children’s fancy drees ball held at the Frankleigh Park Hall on Saturday night. Practically all the little ones were in fancy costume and for them the fun was fast and infectious. They had a fine time. The costumes were judged by Me-sdames Clare and Wilson and they made the following awards:— Girls: Fancy, Eileen Booker (Starlight Fairy) 1, Kitty Harper (Prince Charming) 2, Phyllis Hoyle (Shepherdess) 3. Originals: Marjorie Sole (Egyptian) 1, Flora Allen ('Carrot)'2. Leoni Ward (Chinese Gardener) 3. Specials: Dorothy Spindler (Peasant Girl), Dulcie Booker (Rose Girl), Beryl Bishop (Apple Blossom), Manu Allen (Pirate). Gwynydd and Megam Johns (Welsh Girls). Boys.—Fancy: Sydney Spindler (Scotsman) 1, Colin Allen (Night Sprite) 2, Jack Booker (English Gentleman) 3. Poster: Leonard Booker (Pie Shop) 1. Original: Alf Booker (Golliwog) 1, Pal Stevens (Nigger) 2. Les. Jury (Jockey) 3. Specials: Dick Oliver (Pierrot), Pat Ward ('Pierrot), Jack Ibbotson (Pierrot). During the evening a fancy dance was contributed by Miss Harper. The music for the dancing was supplied by Airs. Ivor Johns and for the adults by Mrs. Bishop. Extras were played, by Miss L. Ward and Master L. Jury. Alessrs J. Spindler and C. Bendall acted as AT.C.’s. The ladies’ committee, which was responsible for the organisation and carried it out in such a euccessful manner, desire to thank those who generously donated prizes.
