OBITUARY.
MRS. C. E. BELLRINGER. Deep regret will be felt amongst » large number of friends in New Plymouth and North Taranaki at the news of the death yesterday of Mrs. C. E» Bellringer, of ‘ Vogeltown. Mrs. Belk ringer was one of the best known and most highly respected members of the community of New Plymouth in the earlier days of its existence, and during the days when she enjoyed good health was a constant worker for the public good. The daughter of Mr. Joe Ward, proprietor of the old cooperage once situated where Bendall'e coal depot is at present located, and one of the earliest settlers of New Plymouth, Mrs. Bellringer was born in New Plymouth ill 1865 and lived continuously in the town until her death. After her marriage she continued to take great interest m the work and welfare of the Primitive Methodist Church, and maintained this interest in the Methodist Church after the union of the churches had taken place. About a year ago a paralytic stroke severely impaired her health, and at the beginning of this year she was overtaken by another calamity, tbb total loss of her sight, which did much to weaken her for the final blow, a chill which she eaught a few days ago and which had fatal results.
Mrs. Bellringer is survived by heZ husband, six sons—Messrs A. C. W. Bellringer (Waitara), L. L. Bellringer (Stratford), and L. J., G. C., N. 8.. and Hedley Bellringer (New Plymouth) three’ brothers —Messrs Harry Ward (New Plymouth), C. C. Ward (New Plymouth) and Sydney Ward (Stratford) —and four sisters —Miss Harriet Ward and Mesdames F. C. J. Bellringer, J. Russell and L. Little (all of New Plymouth). One brother (Mr. Georg® Ward) and one sister (Mrs. O. W. Sole) predeceased Mrs. Bellringer.
