SENTENCE OF THREE MONTHS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, July 21. In the Supreme Court, John George Burgess, aged 61, a builder, for bigamy was sentenced to three months’ hard labour. The Crown stated that the case had few redeeming features and it was curious that his wife lived only a short distance from where Burgess and tho other woman had lived. RORQUAL~WHALE STRANDED. Auckland, July 21. A rorqual whale between 40 and 50 feet in length is stranded near the mouth of the Tamaki River. The body is scarred, possibly at the result of attacks by swordfish or sharks.
