THE PEOPLE’S. “THE PAINTED LADY.” “The Painted Lady,” a seven-reel William Fox drama of love and adventure in the 'South Sea Islands, is showing for the last time to-night at the People’s Theatre. The story holds one’s interest from 'beginning to end, and the cast, headed by George O’Brien and Dorothy Mackaill, act flawlessly. A comedy, “The House of Flickers,” a beautiful scenic and Fox News reel are the supports. To-morrow and Wednesday the People’s management are screening “Colleen of the Pines,” a stirring adventure story with Jane Novak featured. The action takes place in a beautiful setting—the snow-capped, mountains and pine forests of north-west Canada. Admission prices at the People’s Theatre are: Stalls 9d, D.C. Is 3d. EVERYBODY’S. “THE SUNSET TRAIL.” The principal picture on the new programme which commences a three-night season at Everybody’s this evening, is “The Sunset Trail,” a Universal Western feature, and has William Desmond and Gareth Hughes in the featured roles. The story was adopted from Henry Herbert Knibbs’ novel, “Overland Red.” “The Sunset Trail,” devoid of the usual riding 'bands of cowboys, is a real novelty western feature and provides entertainment of a different sort. The locale of the story is in the heart of • the Californian desert, not far from the famous Lone Pine and Death Valley districts. Others in the cast are Lucille Hutton, Clark Comstock, A. J. •Smith, and S. E. Jennings. The supporting programme will include a Century and a Star comedy, and the latest International News reel. Box plans for the season are now open at Collier’s.
