FLIGHT OVER PACIFIC.
AMERICAN COAST TO HAWAII. VESSELS TO PATROL ROUTE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn. Received June 21, 5.5 p.m. Washington, June 20. The Navy, Department announces that a naval airplane flight from the Pacific Coast to Hawaii will probably start on September 2. It .has not been decided whether the start will be made from San Diego or San Francisco. Captain Standford Moses, commander of the aircraft squadron of the battle fleet, will command the -flight, the route of which will be patrolled by ten vessels. The (battleship Arizona, the air-craft-carrier Langley and the aircraft tender Acrostook will be stationed six*, hundred miles apart between the mamland and the islands for the purpose of gathering weather observations. Six destroyers will be scattered at two hundred’ mile intervals in the gaps between the station ships. In addition two minesweepers will patrol the route. The delay in selecting the starting point is due considerably to rivalry between San. Diego and San Francisco for the honour.
